IFC Helps Western European Companies to Boost their Investments in Emerging Markets
One of Western Europe’s mandates is business development and client relationship management with European companies, banks, and investors that are headquartered or have a strong presence in one or more Western European countries.
IFC Western Europe's small and dedicated team of country and investment officers play an important role in originating sponsor relationships. To reach out to the Western European business community, the department regularly organizes targeted outreach and events. A recent example was the high-level business development event aimed at the Belgian business community which IFC co-organized with key local government and private sector partners in Brussels. Over 100 CEOs and CFOs from Belgian companies attended to hear more about opportunities in emerging markets and how IFC can support them in this context.
Business development seminars have been organized in most European countries, the last one being held in Ireland in mid-June.
