What we do
IFC’s Corporate Governance teams work with firms to attract and retain investment by promoting the adoption of corporate governance best practices and standards.
How we do it
IFC promotes the adoption of corporate governance best practices and standards in countries where it is needed most by:

Assessing a firm’s corporate governance practices and providing advice on how to improve them.

Building capacity of local consulting firms, directors’ institutes, and educational institutions and providing advice on corporate governance.

Working with stock exchanges to develop corporate governance codes and listing requirements.

Raising awareness through media training, conferences, and roundtables as well as through the sharing of best practices.
- Working with governments to pass corporate governance laws, regulations, and codes.
