When The Treaty of Lisbon came into effect, the European Council appointed a High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The High Representative is assisted by the European External Action Service (EEAS).


IFC maintains an ongoing strategic dialogue with the EEAS on respective activities.
