IFC's Investments in Latin America and the Caribbean
IFC’s
investments in Latin America and the Caribbean continued to grow even
during turbulent economic times. In FY10, IFC committed over $3 billion
for our own account—a record—and mobilized an additional $827 million in
syndication and parallel co-financing for clients in the region.
We
diversified our portfolio across 21 countries in the region with
investments concentrated in financial markets, infrastructure, and
manufacturing and services.
Our
investment strategy increasingly targeted Central American and
Caribbean countries. IFC supported 133 investment projects, of which 30
percent were in Central America and the Caribbean. |
